In partnership with the University of Bridgeport, Goodwin University is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Academic & Campus Technology Services. This position is responsible for coordinating the service delivery teams to ensure that Academic & Campus Technology Services is operating at optimal levels at all times. As a member of the ACTS leadership team, the Director of Academic & Campus Technology Services is involved in strategic decisions that shape the delivery of academic and campus technology services.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, supervise and develop high performing information technology staff
- Create and maintain a professional team environment that reflects the University mission and values
- As a strategic member of the University participate in non-technical projects and initiatives to benefit the internal and external community
- Serve as a liaison for administration, staff and faculty regarding future planning and goals of the University
- Collaborate with academic and support departments to recommend information systems policy and make appropriate decisions on the acquisition of products and systems
- Facilitate open and collaborative discussion of academic and campus technology with stakeholders
- Work with campus partners to identify and, where possible, eliminate barriers that are impeding the use of technology solutions
- Develop functional and/or service goals that ensure efficient delivery of technology services
- Coordinate the service delivery teams to ensure ACTS is operating at optimal levels
- Manage all service contracts, recommend changes for superior service and manage tangible work products, both qualitative and quantitative
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field or equivalent work experience; masters preferred
- A minimum of eight years of experience with information technology, with at least five years showing progressive leadership and supervising professional staff, preferably in higher education

- Demonstrated ability to successfully create and maintain a high performing team
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications ability
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute work in a complex organization
- Effective leadership skills to mentor and assist less experienced staff
- Proficiency in working with vendors, negotiation, and contractual agreements
- Experience leading large, complex information technology initiatives to successful completion
- Experience with ITIL or similar IT process management frameworks
- Broad knowledge major IT vendor products and services (HP/Dell/Cisco etc.)
- Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, faculty, and other constituencies
- Available to work some evenings and weekends
